The new Fiat 500 with combustion engine is scheduled to be released in November 2025
Things are not going well for Fiat: In its home country of Italy, the market share was only seven percent last year. One reason was the discontinuation of the old 500 with combustion engine. Ergo, new models are urgently needed, especially since the Grande Panda will be delayed.
The future of Fiat is not only the Grande Panda. At least two other novelties can be seen on the horizon, including the new 500 Hybrid, which will be launched earlier than expected. And within this decade we will also see completely new successors for 500 and Panda/Pandina (production at least until 2027).
It was Jean-Philippe Imparato, Fiat's COO for Europe, who gave these first glimpses directly in an interview with Autocar during the Brussels Motor Show. However, Imparato added some more details, emphasizing the central role of Italian production facilities in Fiat's plans.
The first novelty will be the Grande Panda, which will be available at European dealerships from March in an electric and a mild hybrid version. It opens a real model family, which in the coming years will be enriched by different body types based on the shapes of the B-segment crossover. Among them is said to be a Giga Panda.

A Fiat 500e just assembled at the Mirafiori plant
After the Grande Panda, it's time for the combustion version of the 500 Electric with 48V hybrid, which will have the same look as the 500e. It will be launched in November 2025, a few months earlier than expected, probably to compensate as much as possible for the decline in sales in Europe caused by the end of the old combustion engine 500. And as for the 500, the new generation of electric cars will be launched in 2029, again built in Mirafiori, and should last at least until 2032-2033.
But that's not all, because Imparato also talked about the new Pandina: "The current generation will be produced until 2030," said the brand's top European manager, "then we will have a new model, always manufactured at the Pomigliano d'Arco plant. Again, Imparato confirmed what had already become known during the meeting between the government and Stellantis last December. This would have meant that the current Panda would have been on the market for an incredible 17 years.

Fiat Pandina
Although Imparato did not provide any information about the engine of the new Pindina, we assume that it will be offered exclusively as a mild hybrid in order not to compete with the Grande Panda and the 500e. To learn more about it, however, we will have to wait a little longer.
